Chandragiri Fort

Situated about 15 km from Tirupati, this magnificent 11th-century fort was once the fourth capital of the Vijayanagara dynasty, featuring majestic palaces, courtyards, and temples built on a massive rock rising 183 metres high. The Raja Mahal within the complex has been transformed into an archaeological museum housing artefacts from the Vijayanagara period. An impressive sound-and-light show held here in Telugu and English brings the fort's storied history to life after dark.
